Defenseman Award
- One award is to be presented to one player on each team (exception: no individual awards for the Mite U6 cross-ice teams).
- Players who have logged a minimum of 75\% of their overall playing time in the current season at defense are eligible
- To be selected by active players from each team as well as the Head Coach and active assistant coaches, in addition to one of the following: Director of Hockey Operations, ACE Coordinator, and Head of Coaches.
- To be selected by the active players from each team, using the prescribed method of having each player select three (3) nominees ranked one through three (one being the first choice). The cumulative scores are to be totaled and formulated by the Head Coach of the team. First place = 3 points, second place = 2 points, and third place = 1 point.
- The player with the highest overall score will be the award winner. In the case of a tie, the player with the most first place votes among those tied will be the award winner.

- Strives to improve the art of "playing defense";
- Unselfishly plays the position, either through their choice or the coach's;
- Shows support for his/her goaltenders regardless of the score;
- Exhibits leadership and dedication;
- has respect for his/her teammates, coaches, opponents and referees; and,
- Is a role model for the position of defense for the younger players in the Organization coming up
The 2007-08 season selection process must be completed and submitted by March 14, 2008
