Bethlehem Blast Awards:
Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award
- One award is to be presented annually to a player from each Blast team (exception: no individual awards for Mite U6 cross-ice teams). The MVP award should be considered the highest award when assessing all award nominees
- All active players, regardless of position or skill level, are eligible
- To be selected by the active players from each team as well as the Head Coach and active assistant coaches, in addition to one of the following: Director of Hockey Operations, ACE Coordinator, and Head of Coaches
- To be selected by the active players from each team, using the prescribed method of having each player select three (3) nominees ranked one through three (one being the first choice). The cumulative scores are to be totaled and formulated by the Head Coach of the team. First place = 3 points, second place = 2 points, and third place = 1 point
- The player with the highest overall score will be the award winner. In the case of a tie, the player with the most first place votes among those tied will be the award winner.
- The criteria shall be as follows:
The player selected could be the player who...
- Gives 100\% effort in every game and practice;
- Exhibits good leadership skills and listening skills;
- Scores on a consistent basis, plays the best defense, or stops the most shots;
- Would be missed the most if he/she had to miss a game; and,
- Displays consistent "Blast" spirit and ideals
The 2007-08 season selection process must be completed and submitted by March 14, 2008
